NEPAmesh USA_915

NEPAmesh.net

Connecting Northeastern Pennsylvania & Beyond. We are building an independent, community-driven, decentralized, and highly resilient mesh communication infrastructure across regional mountains and valleys using standard open-source telemetry models.

What are you looking for?

1

New to Mesh Core?

Configure your off-grid LoRa radio hardware step-by-step and link into the primary US mesh nodes.

2

Find Local Nodes

Map nearby communities, exchange baseline signal contacts, and trace regional high-elevation line-of-sight relays.

3

Check US Mesh Regions

Track exactly which geographic sector assignments cover your specific coordinates across the Mid-Atlantic zone.

What kind of device are you setting up?

Choose a deployment deployment strategy tailored to your regional location constraints.

Personal Companion

Tether to your smartphone via Bluetooth to securely exchange encrypted peer-to-peer off-grid messages.

Stationary Repeater

Install on high-elevation structures or roofs to extend packet forwarding range across valleys.

Room Server

Host persistent messaging channels and operational logging parameters for local tactical teams.

Network Observer

Forward analytics metadata downstream to real-time maps via MQTT internet gateway connections.

USA & NEPA Default Radio Settings

Utilize these critical preset baselines unless instructed otherwise by localized system dispatch rules.

Setting Parameter Standard United States Defaults
Radio Preset Frequency US_915 (915.0 MHz Unlicensed ISM Band)
Raw Modulation Values 910.525 MHz / 62.5 kHz / SF7 / CR5
Hop Limit Path Mode Default 2-byte hash pathing (Optimized for minimal payload overhead)
Command-Line Flags meshtastic --set lora.hop_limit 3 --set lora.region US
FCC Part 15 Compliance Directive: Operational procedures inside the 915MHz spectrum are globally subject to unlicensed ISM bandwidth limitations. Transmit power bounds must never scale past maximum structural levels (1 Watt transmitter output / 4 Watts EIRP structural system caps). No operator licensing is mandatory for standard configurations.

Active Regional Backbone Infrastructure

High-altitude line-of-sight infrastructure anchoring communication coverage down into Scranton and Wilkes-Barre valley grids.

Node Alpha Online

Bald Mountain Repeater

Overlooking Scranton valley corridor blocks. Configured with a 1W RAK Wireless module coupled with a 5.8dBi omni antenna array setup.

Elev: 2,210 ft Hops: 0
Node Bravo Online

Moosic Mountain Repeater

Securing reliable off-grid tracking relays directly east out past Dunmore, Carbondale, and cross-connecting grids.

Elev: 1,980 ft Hops: 1
Node Charlie Intermittent

AVP Airport Repeater

Providing targeted low-altitude tracking footprint layers adjacent to Avoca and Pittston link points.

Elev: 940 ft Hops: 1
